Words in the Hills LLC is dedicated to bringing creative writers of all genres together to grow, share, and connect with each other and with nature.
Southern Ohio Scholarship
Part of our mission is to keep our events financially accessible for the local community. Southern Ohio is home to some of the poorest counties in the state. We are also home to a community of talented writers and artists. Your donation will go directly to writers in this region to cover a portion of their tuition.
The vision
A word from Megan...
I started Words in the Hills LLC with the love for two things: nature and writing.
I grew up playing in creeks and going to summer camps. As a kid, I also loved to journal and write poetry. I studied Ecotourism at Hocking College, and have been deeply involved in camps as a naturalist, backpacking guide, education coordinator, and music director over the past twenty years.
Someone handed me a guitar around a campfire one night, and music started being a bigger part of my life. I have recorded six albums of original music and toured all over the country as a solo singer-songwriter.
My vision for Words in the Hills is to provide a supportive environment for creative writers of all kinds to grow, share their work, and connect with nature and each other.
Coming together with a group of people in the outdoors has always had the power to inspire, challenge, and make space for real growth and connection in my life. Whether meeting a new friend or enjoying some quiet time writing in the woods, I want Words In The Hills to provide a space to retreat and renew your love of writing and nature.
